Nikki Wingfield was in touch about the opening ceremony for the new Connect2 section at the Denton Holme Bridge. It is being postponed. Nikki explains: Bit of bad news I’m afraid. We are going to have to postpone the official opening of the first section of Connect 2 as it won’t quite be complete and also the Environment Agency have requested that we hang fire until they are complete as well. (Was planned for 23rd at 11am at Bay Pub new bridge).

However, we will still be having a photo opportunity with a local school and head of Sustrans Malcolm Shepherd, who will be up in Cumbria to inspect the progress of Connect 2 and the section that has already been completed. Apologies for anyone that had planned some funky fun stuff, I hope the delay isn’t too long and we get to celebrate the first piece of the connect 2 jigsaw being completed soon.
