According to "The Place" a newsletter for property professionals, Carlisle is still the hottest regional capital by house price. That can mean only one thing to my warped brain. It's still a grand place to live. And places don't come much pleasanter than Stanwix - do they?
If we get the Community Centre rebuilt then it'll be even better - won't it!

The project to rebuild the community huts in Stanwix' Church Street is gathering pace. Following last week's meeting of the Stanwix Community Association (SCA), several small working groups have been gathering information and planting "seeds". We are beginning to develop an ambitious package of grant applications and social events for the next year to meet our target: of raising a fund of up to £145,000.
But here's the rub, this needs to be a community wide effort ... not just another case of "let the usual suspects do it all".
The project is ambitious. The project is vital: to retaining pre-school and after school care within the heart of Stanwix.
As one of the "seeds" for the SCA's project, I have recently emailed everybody in my personal address book, to drum up awareness. I will also be starting up a Stanwix.info based mailing list that I would ask everybody, with an interest in Stanwix as a community, to sign up to so that we can get word, news, updates and "the craik" out quickly and efficiently. |

Stanwix Community Association Needs Your Help, Support and Commitment
Hallo to all members and visitors to Stanwix.Info,
I hope you don't mind me contacting you like this, but as a community association, we need help!
Please try to attend a special meeting on Monday 21st September at the Community Hut
Stanwix Community Association has embarked on a project to replace the huts on Church Street. Currently the huts are used for a surprising range of activities by diverse groups of users.
Of particular importance to us, is the Stanwix Playgroup who provide pre-school care and education for your toddlers (and grand toddlers!). Allsorts, on the other hand, provide activities for the older children after school hours, which is just as vital a service to our community.
